Last night around 9:20 pm AZ. time i happened to tune in down on 3612
and heard W6QNE with a great signal down here into Az. Printed him and
K6SAD's QSo about 85% due to static from developing T-storms somewhere.
Sig's were S9 on the high side and S3 on the bottom.
Now if the Dovetron had anti-QRN features i might have gotten 100% but
it did ok.
Nice printing you guys with the mechanical 28. When i start typing it's
gonna take awhile to get anything across as that mechanical keyboard is
sure a lot different feel wise than this PC unit.
Last weekend there was a RTTy contest on, at least on Saturday. Didn't
hear any familiar call signs but did hear folks down on 15 and even one
signal on 10 meters although very weakly. 20 and 40 kept me busy tuning
from one signal to the other trying to hear all of them. Maybe some
sort of RTTY SWL contest could be set up. Much like the old Boys Life
SWL contest from back in the 50-60's. RTTY Journal used to have
contests periodically like the WAS and others i remember. Remember they
gave away new Dovetron's and Hank got his thing caught in a wringer
cause hams weren't supposed to receive "value" for winning contests.
Copy and reporting of results have to go via rtty messages to the
sponsor. Well, maybe email the first year but then "ya gotta get on the
air with the greenies"!
just had to say something.
