The problem may be at least in part regional. I.e., where it's coming from,
where it's going to, and what it has to pass through in order to get there.
Week before last I shipped two CH-74-A's (steel chest normally used for
SCR-506, SCR-508 or SCR-608 Radio Sets in other than closed armored vehicles). One
went to IL, one to FL. They were both shipped bare (no box, as basically they
are steel boxes). The one to IL arrived with a 1/4" dia. welded steel post 4"
up inside the chest broken off. The one to FL, which had six relatively
fragile Lift-The-Dot male fasteners sticking out of one side (I had removed them
from the first one but broke half in the process so didn't do that on the
second one) arrived with no damage whatsoever. :-)
