[GreenKeys] 120VDC power supply noise?

Harvey,

Back aboard the USS Randolph in 1965... I was trying to find a hot
shorting capacitor in a power supply. After trying this and that I
was getting tired and forgot to unplug and discharge the supply...
You can guess what happened. I got between ground and the output. My
muscles reacted so violently that the long nose pliers in my hands
flew backwards and stuck in the metal bulkhead covering behind me.

My arm and right side was sore for a week. I guess "once burned,
twice shy" would apply here. The only other "memorable" shock I
received was during my years as a Teletype installer repairman with
Illinois Bell. Getting ahold of a telegraph loop that was wired for
both positive and negative 130 volts to reach a machine on a long
loop. WOW... I guess I am lucky to still be alive.

Today, at age 63, I work on old Macintosh computers and am extremely
careful when poking around their innards.

Your contributions to Greenkeys are very astute and valuable.

Many thanks,
