Thanks, Bill, for sharing a good find and for the "seamless" integration to
Heavy Metal. This could be useful some day!

Subject: [GreenKeys] Banner program & HeavyMetal
Thanks for the responses on banner programs. There's a free Windows program
that does just what I want. It's called "Fabs" and can be found at:
http://www.angelfire.com/il/fabs/
I went ahead and modified HeavyMetal to directly invoke this program and
generate banners. The command is located under the 'RTTY Art' menu. To use
this feature, you'll need to download the fabs program above, and make sure
the files "standard.ban" and "fabs.exe" are located in the same folder as
HeavyMetal.
The new version of HeavyMetal is 1.24, and can be downloaded from
http://www.buzbee.net/heavymetal/hm_1_24.zip
Note that this version also fixes a bad shortcoming on earlier versions that
caused HeavyMetal to die in an unfriendly way on many Windows PCs. I had
previously hard-coded the COM port addresses. Now the addresses are
configurable via the Config menu as well as the heavymetal.cfg file. If
HeavyMetal isn't working for you, check out your COM port address in the
device manager and set "Port Address" under the "Config" menu appropriately
(and also do a File->SaveConfig so that it will be correct the next time you
start up).
