[GreenKeys] Saving paper tapes (was Auto-Pix)

ok, rewinding makes sense. I actually have one buried somewhere, but does it mount somewhere on an 28 asr? I can see a rewinder being useful either for the TD or for the reperf. So where could one mount a rewinder that could be used for either?

Also, what about feeding the tape in? It would be great if one could load tape onto a spool kinda like 16mm film then feed it through the TD and into the rewinder. If anyone on the list has ever worked on editing 16mm film they have things called split reels. You can take off the top reel guard, leave the bottom. So the film goes into half a reel very easily, as easily as laying the roll of film on the table. Then you screw back in the top guard and voila!

Any such equivalent for tape? BTW: I actually have split reels, so I guess I could fashion something.. but what was the "official" way?
