Yes, a station still has to ID every ten minutes.  If you check your  ST-6 
you will see that there is a feature called narrow shift CW ID.  You  can adjust 
the pot on the back of the ST-6 and still key your station ID every  ten 
minutes using Morse Code and keep the FCC happy.
 
The narrow shift will not cause the teleprinter to run open or print any  
characters during station ID and everyone's happy.
