I too have a set of said E clip istallation tools, but in another life,
instead of the grease, I used bee's wax. Good luck

Eugene,

Although there are installation tools I have managed to replace "E" clips (3
tabs) and "C" clips (2 tabs) using a magnet or a small glob of the stickiest
grease that you can find. If possible use gravity to help you by putting
the
object so that the clip can lay on the part that it will retain, then use a
screwdriver blade to push the clip on.

GL,

Buzz

entering FIGS mode, I decided to remove the spring to see if the clunking
went
away. Well, it did not. So I decided I could safely reconnect my spring and
continue to search elsewhere.

c-clip forget which it is). the spring mounted on a little roller and the
roller was held onto a little post by a little e-clip. LUCKILY! I have
found
both the roller and the clip buried in the mass of metal bars of the
keyboard.
Don't ask how I found them!

e-clip back on? First there is VERY little room between all the things in
this
area of the printer. But should this clip go on over the face of the post?
Or
perpendicular to the post with the ends of the clip being forced open as it
overcomes the diameter of the post and then finally coming to rest as it
passes
the widest part of the post?
