[GreenKeys] CBS-TV News, Walter Cronkite KB2GSD, and 28RO's

The recent publicity over CBS-TV's new anchorwoman reminded me of the 
set used by Walter Cronkite when he was the anchorman. It included a row 
of 28RO's. My memory of the machines is clear but not my memory of 
whether they were visibly operating and whether people tearing off copy 
from them were part of the show. Another curious part is that the wire 
services never used 28RO's much if at all, staying with 15RO's until the 
end, not that it would have been hard for CBS to get themselves updated. 
Does anyone here remember this better than i do or have any real info on it?

My 28RO is ex-NOAA weather wire, which did standardize on them.
