Jerry,

I'm not certain about whatever FSK converter might have been aboard New
Jersey when commissioned (if any) but postwar until her final de-commissioning they
would have at most likely been AN/URA-6, 7, 8 in the 50's, AN/URA-8A,B (a
different animal entirely from AN/URA-8) late 50's and 60's and AN/URA-17 late
60's until de-commissioning. When complete, all of these systems are set up for
2-channel diversity operation. The first three use a pair of converters
(CV-57, 71 or 60) and Comparator CM-14. AN/URA-8A or B use a pair of CV-89,A and
a CM-22. URA-17 uses a pair of CV-483 converters. The comparator circuits
are built into the CV-483's.
