  Ahhh - my first TTY machine - when I was as old as the Model Number...


   This machine types on 1/4 paper tape that is then torn off, 
line-by-line, and glued onto a Western Union Telegram Form....  perhaps 
you've seen older telegrams that were "pasted up" this way.


   When I got mine, it still had half a magazine of gummed tape. What a 
lovely mess *that* made!

  I'm told there was an attachment that took the gummed tape, wet it, cut 
it (according to a CR-LF) and applied it to a Telegram blank in order, so 
the Operator didn't have to lick all those miles of message traffic.

   Ow - paper cuts!


   Anyway - not a lot of these left out there - it's a cool old machine, 
and I spent many hours fixing and adjusting one just like it, save it was 
black crinkle finish - not that WU monkey-huck color...   ;}
