I also suggest that anyone reading this post also consider flying out to 
Hawaii (pearl Harbor) and touring the Mighty MO radio room.
 
 
I did this exact tour Dec 7th 2006.  (accompanied by my 85 yr old dad W0WUR)
 
you will enjoy it and we did the round trip for less than $300 bucks airfare.
 
The OM W0WUR is a US Navy Survivor who was on the deck of the USS Ralph 
Talbot (destroyer) , parked in the harbor Dec 7th 1941 at 0755 .  The rest is 
history, except he is still alive and we were able to return to the scene of the 
action.
 
He actually saw the Arizona blow up.
 
The guys (ham OP's) on the Mighty, MO were great.  Do this tour before you 
get any older?
