That is sad about the 28's.  Unfortunately, years ago I had to let the same 
thing happen to a black wrinkle M19 with metal table.  I just literally didn't 
have a place to put it at the time it was available.  Later when I had more 
space, I sorta made up for it by becoming the temporary guardian of another one 
when a local Ham club got kicked out of their space downtown.  Eventually it 
found a good home.

I didn't mean to imply earlier that I saw anything wrong with people giving 
away a Teletype machine or anything else.  The second M19 is far from the only 
piece of Teletype equipment that I've given to someone who wanted it and would 
come and get it.  But my point was that those who think that all TTY machines 
should be free for the asking regardless of who has them do us all a 
dis-service when they say so to all and sundry.  Word does get around, especially over 
the Internet.  Someone who's ended up with one for whatever reason does a 
quick search, comes across numerous references indicating no market at all, and 
calls the scrap haulers to come and haul it all off.
