BSP = Bell System Practices
Originally Teletype Corp. produced the manuals, called bulletins, for
each piece of equipment. Then people at Bell Labs re-wrote them for
Bell System use. In the early 1960s somebody in authority decided this
was silly and had Teletype start producing the manuals in BSP format.
At that point a Teletype customer manual consisted of a cover and title
page and a list of the various BSPs contained therein, followed by the
BSPs. So you'll likely encounter both kinds of manuals in the field,
and perhaps even some of the earlier BSPs produced by Bell Labs.
