Check your clutches - takes a bit to get all that mass "to speed" - if, 
on the other hand - it's just "impeding" a bit -- i.e. doing it's 
synching  job -- the "mass" is already in motion... and a bit of 
slippage is tolerable (though an indication trouble is brewing).
