I never was sure that it was only a rumor. We had a couple of those Mite 
printers installed just before I was transferred off the 'USS Cochrane' 
in April '74. They were mostly plastic inside and sure did look and feel 
like toys. But I never could find the "Made by Mattel" label, no matter 
how hard I looked for it. On the other hand, I didn't see what they were 
shipped in. The shipyard crew had them installed before I even knew they 
were there. Their gray shells matched some of the older M28 printers we 
still had though.
