I tried to get a dialtone put onto my beach house DSL circuit.  After 20 
minutes of talking to two people who were doing a "routine" identity / 
credit challenge, I hung up the fone.  Social security and DOB for a 
telephone clerk ???  No thanks.  Who knows how honest the clerk is !!

At lunch, I went to Radio Shack and bought a "MagicJack"....I'll connect it 
to my shore computer USB and be done with the wireline DT.  I could not 
believe how haughty the Verizon was over simply installing a DT on an 
existing account....either they are nuts or they are thwarting wire service 
in anticipation of getting outta the DT business.

With "free" ($19/yr) telephone service I wonder if it could be used to a 
"TTY hub" of some type for all to enjoy!  The only "glitch" might be that it 
requires "high speed" DSL....whatever "high speed" is!!
