Kevin,
I cannot find any paper documentation on the 26. I think it is on a
CD-ROM here somewhere.
When I find it I will let you know. The paper roll on a M12 and a M26
are similar.
The bottom of the M26 wood cabinet opens from the front. The paper
roll is suspended on a
rod held up by two pieces of cordage or wire so that it can swing left
and right as the
platen moves. The paper unrolls from the rear of the roll up through
a slot in the back
of the top of the cabinet and onto the platen.
On the M12 the roll is exposed on the rear of the machine and enters
through a slot
in the cover and onto the platen.
Best,
Don

I need some help on a Model 26 I just acquired. It is a Bell System
machine. The serial number appears to be 3208. It is a Type 26-B
Typing
Unit. Externally it looks exactly like the machine shown in the video
on
YouTube.
I need manuals if anyone has any to spare or loan for making copies (or,
if there are any posted online). I may need connectors and wires also
if
possible. If anyone has an "extra" 26A table they would like to get rid
of I would be in the market! hihi The table that I got and thought
went
with the 26 is actually a 15N. Or, could that be used for the 26 as
well?
I have a copy of Bell System Practices Teletypewriter Station
Installation
and Maintenance, Section P91.011, 26TTY - 26A Table Local Attended TWX
Service wiring diagram but that's all I have for this machine.
I may need a parts list as well. I assume that the paper supply went on
the outside of the case. There is no paper rack, holder, winder, etc.,
with the machine I acquired.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
