JP,
It is a TU. Or more correctly a Converter. And actually a pretty good
one, albeit a trifle on the heavy side. Audio type, two-channel diversity
input. Single channel (loop) output. Built-in loop supply. AFSK range
200-15,000 cps tunable. Output either neutral or polar. Input impedance 500 or
5000 ohms. Filter type. Lower filter is fixed. Upper is adjustable. Scope
display is of the "+" type. Output mark/space is reversible with a front
panel switch. AFSK speed range up to 250 wpm. Also runs make-break
(high-speed CW) up to 500 wpm. Dates from the late 50's. Mostly used by the
spooks.
Hard copy reprint of the Instruction Book $15.00 plus shipping. I have one
of the converters and used to use it almost exclusively, usually behind a
pair of Super Pro's running either space or polarization diversity.
