[GreenKeys] 28 ASR working great!

Hi All:

I just wanted to thank Jack Hart, Don House, and the many
members of this list for their advice while I rebuilt an
old 28 ASR for a museum display.

It has taken time, as it is cold over in the museum this
time of year, and I could only do a bit at a time, but now
everything works great (other than the ribbon -)

I concentrated first on getting the printer and keyboard
operation, building a loop supply, then getting the printer-
perforator working, then finally removing the TD (reader)
soaking it in kerosene, relubricating it and re-installing,
and today finally rewiring its control circuitry with
advice from Jack Hart. This machine has selective calling
installed, which had hijacked the control over the reader -
it is now back to the normal wiring.

Thenks to a list member, I now have a Black Box loop
converter, and also found an IRL FSK-1000 demodulator on
eBay. These will both be used for providing a live demo of
the machine in the museum.

Thank you so much for your help. I hope all had a very
Merry Christmas, and that you all will have a Happy New
Year!

Thanks,

Dave, VY2AC
