I'd say it is very unusual for one of those machines to come with a polar
relay. I would guess this is a non-Western Union machine, since they
called it a 2-B and would almost always have put the polar relay into
the table if one was needed. Another use for the machines was TWX
switchboards and telegraph test boards; and they wouldn't need a relay
either. But maybe somebody on the list can tell us where Model 14s with
line relays were used.
