Most of the traffic on the air and over the web is 5 level ITA2
usually referred to as BAUDOT. The 33 ASR uses 8 level ASCII. If the
ST-8000A has a 5 to 8 level convertor you would be okay.
I do not know if it has a convertor or not. There is a simple circuit
layout, using a polar relay that will work to interface the machine
with the terminal unit.
I will send it to you in a separate email.

Can anyone recommend an RS232 to Analog Current Loop converter or
circuit that I can build to interface between HAL ST-8000A and my
Teletype 33ASR.
