If anyone on the list would like a copy of the Universal M-7000
Quick Start manual, I just finished scanning it and it is a single
file. It is a little over 10Mb, and my ISP's server does not like
files that large. I can use MasterSplitter and e-mail you the file
in pieces that you can reassemble yourself (with your free trial
copy of MasterSplitter that that you download which will work
free for 30 days) or I can mail you a CD. If you want the CD,
I ask that you wait until I'm done scanning the "main" manual and
an addendum so I can send you all the manuals at once. The
QuickStart manual seems to be enough to get anyone started,
however, if you enjoy dinking around inside of things with your
"golden screwdriver", you'll probably want the whole manual.

Be warned that many of the pages deal with the setting up of
old dot-matrix printers to provide hard copy of radio FAXes.
I had not heard the name Seikosha for YEARS until I looked
in this manual! (Do they still make printers?) I also had the
privilege of reminiscing about the old Epson LQ series printers!
BZZZT BZZZT BZZDZZZDZZZDZZZZT! I've had a laser
page printer so long I almost forgot what they sound like! We
used an old dot matrix printer at work until 2 years ago- and I
guess it's still being used (we sold the business) to print out
telephone billing reports.

I'm also still looking for anyone who can either send me an image
or let me borrow your ROM chip of V7 long enough to make some
copies for myself and for others who are patiently waiting for it. Or
if someone on the list has a good friend on the inside at Universal
Radio- perhaps you can talk them into e-mailing me the ROM
image and I'll make them some chips they can sell and GIVE them
to them for FREE! (Hey- I'm getting desperate for this upgrade!)

Nick, thanks again!

Thanks & 73, -Web
