Any of you that are interested, HAL does still have a tilt-bail/foot kit for 
the ST-8000A at a very reasonable price.  It is:
HAL P/N 850-40008 Tilt-bail and foot set (2 front and 2 rear) for $21.15 
each kit.
I probably won't rack mount mine, and ordered a kit this morning.  I asked 
Bill if it was okay to "advertise" this, as I thought it would be useful to
