GE OMs;

I liked the smell (and glow!) of the old surplus military radios.

The knobs all over the place... The meters... The pure sinewave
sound of a cw note - not this digital junk with its squished squarewave
sound. The smell of what-ever made them work.

Funny this came up now. I just got an issue of QST. My wife asked me
how much I pay for it. I said that I got a life membership 40 years
ago. Then I started reminiscencing/complaining about what it was like
to be a ham back then - in the 1960's - and I know at that time the
O.T.s were complaining that WE had it too good. :-)

Tony J. Podrasky | We trained hard... but it seemed that every time
                  | we were beginning to form up into teams we would
                  | be reorganized. I was to learn later in life
                  | that we meet any new situation by reorganizing,
                  | and a wonderful method it can be for creating the
                  | illusion of progress while producing confusion,
                  | inefficiency, and demoralization.
