When you get that far, you are welcome to get my software for just that purpose. I'm presently installing a "telegrafphoffice" in the danish datamuseum www.datamuseum.dk
The software supports 8 tty's via a multiport COM card. I use Moxa, but e.g. Asynch works too. Each port is independently configurable.
The parts are obtainable from Mouser and others.
