BOB,

SO DID THE TECHNICIANS WORKING ON THOSE LINES --- TEE HEE

OPTIMUM VOLTAGE FOR TELEGRAPH SERVICE WAS -130 VDC.  OPTIMUM CURRENT  
FLOW WAS 62.5 MILLIAMPS.

NO TWO LOOPS WOULD BE EXACTLY THE SAME, BUT CLOSE ENOUGH TO OPERATE  
JUST FINE.

P.S.  I TURNED UP A 28 ASR ON AN OUT OF LIMITS LOOP WITH -130 ON ONE  
WIRE AND +130 ON THE OTHER WIRE.
ONLY TEMPORARY MIND YOU... UNTIL THE CIRCUIT COULD BE REDESIGNED OVER  
43A1 CARRIER.  THE SIGNAL
HAD TO BE "SHAPED" WITH A "WAVE SHAPER" --- A SET OF COILS WITH  
MULTIPLE TAPS TO LOWER CAPACITY.
MAN OH MAN YOU DID NOT WANT TO GET YOUR FINGER OR SCREWDRIVER NEAR  
THAT CONNECTING BLOCK~!
IT MELTED THE TIP OFF MY KS SCREWDRIVER... WENT HOME AND GROUND A NEW  
TIP ON IT...
