I am sending this to the list so all can see the solution
to the HM problem.... It was my fault - I had the word
length set to seven. I changed the word length to 8, and
all was well, including the screen display of characters,
oddly. What I was printing out was Today in History...

Actually, HM will print to ascii no problem - just a matter
of setting the correct word length. As someone pointed out,
the text started out on the net as ascii, therefore, it
really didn't need to do any conversion.

Worked well, as you can see. The machine is a bit noisier
than it should be, reason being the foam mat that goes
under the printer had totally disintegrated, and will be
replaced when I can find some foam the same thickness. I am
sure a while back, I saw some around here I could cut a new
piece from.

What is odd to me is it ACTUALLY got quieter when the top
was opened. I guess the noise wasn't reverberating around
as much then!

You, and several others on the list. Some of the parts I
got from you were actually used on the KSR-33 also. I did
save the new Platen and printer top for this one, and also
changed its cover (of course print hammer bumper and
ribbon)..

It sure is nice having it able to be demonstrated ither
than by typing into it. Just a matter of getting the time
to play with the interfacing....
