[GreenKeys] Oops, I got an ASR-33, what is the best current practice for securing for shipment?

My 2 cents, having done this recently.

Before you do anything else, remove the plastic cover. This is probably
easily broken and unrepairable. Might want to pack it/ship it
separately.

>From the pics on the ebay site, it looks like there's no pedestal, but
the second photo shows the two clips that hold the unit onto the
pedestal, so unclear if there's a pedestal or not. If there is, if you
remove the printing unit, keep in mind that it's not balanced on the
pedestal, so after the last of the four screws comes out, and then the
two clips in the back, you'd better have someone supporting the front of
the keyboard.

good luck!

You can pack all the accessories in the stand for easier shipping of the main unit. You only use sheet metal screws on the right sideof the 33 that go into the UCC-6 electronics. Mainly you use the 3 threaded ones you mention with the standoffs above the board. They go into the printer and hold it in place as well as the whole unit. Tricky to get them in, but use patience. Some units did have all sheet metal screws, but mostly early ones. Also tie the carriage to the left with a twister tie or pipe cleaner.
