Hi all...

Many tks to those helpful TTY guys who have provided
lots of discussion and answers to my questions re: the
'Portable' TTY on the auction site, which was later
id'd as a Model 31...

As per my previous submission on this topic, my first
encounter with this type of TTY, so many years ago
was very short... Working under the watchful eye of
a 'Senior' tech., I didn't. get much chance to examine it.
I can remember it was black, I am sure wrinkle finish,
was AC powered, and was connected to a +/- 260VDC@
60ma neutral feed. I know for sure it didn't. have any kind of
handle on it, and appeared to be in a 'Standalone' small
metal cabinet. I don't. recall seeing any kind of red/green
indicator lites inside.

This machine carried a CN Telecommunications I.D.
plate, and was used at our local CFL (Football) sports
stadium...It makes sense now, as it cud be plugged into
various feeds to the local newspapers/radio outlets...

As someone had mentioned, Western Union had 'Portable'
carrying cases made for them. As this CN unit had no such
case, I can only conclude it was the 'Commercial/civilian'
model.

Hope this info is of some use...Tks.
