Yes I know - I've been on here many years.  The only thing 
that has changed is AT&T (three times in the past year).  My 
settings on Thunderbird are Text only - my mail sent through 
my own server (comcents.com)arrives fine, and I too am 
seeing html in emails sent through AT&T (bellsouth.net). 
I've been to the website to set options twice... hopefully 
they'll "stick" this time.  What bothers me is that why 
should "settings" on their webmail interface affect my email 
client's mail....   Blast AT&T!!!!!!
