No, actually "KY" means Keyer, which can cover a multitude of sins.  Why 
they used KY in the nomenclature of some Voice Crypto units I don't know, 
unless it was dis-information.  But if so, they blew it as I think I recall that 
the full nomenclature of the KY-8 was KY-8/TSEC.  FWIW, KY-7/FRT is a tone 
keyer.

I'm sorry but I don't have KY-469/UG listed in my database,  If there is 
any clue in what's on any of the dataplates to the year it was made, if I have 
any reference pubs near that time I'll check the TOC's.
