I found this rather nice clip recently on a video on loan from a friend.

This is an extract from a British Transport Films production called 'The 
long night haul'. It is available on the compilation 'Points and 
Aspects' which is Vol 8 of the series.

The film covers the work of British Road Services. The post-war Labour 
government nationalised the road haulage industry and this was it's 
identity, though later renamed Natinal Freight Corporation. BRS remained 
in public ownership until 1982.[source Wikipedia]
