I've *heard* the skin tights had an LESU - just not in the traditional 
way - again  - someone with more knowledge will have to fill you in on 
the details... The Compact RO does not have an LESU - at all.  There is 
a power switch in the base - and all 120V connections are made at the 
motor terminal block by the intermediate gear (or on the transmission if 
it has one - which many did). The signal lines have their own terminal 
block mounted "back there" as well.

Here is a picture of a 28 compact base after I got through robbing - er 
- disassembling it:

Scroll down about 1/2 way - there is a picture of it with the typer 
still mounted - then scroll down one more...  Even though both terminal 
strips are now loose - you can get a feel for how they go. I probably 
have a picture of the back side - but I'll have to look for that.
