[GreenKeys] 28 ASR Working, but...

Hi All:

Yesterday, I got my 28 ASR working and printing AP news
using Heavy Metal. It has taken a long time, as the museum
isn't heated in the winter...

You can all remember the thrill you got when you first got
your machines copying. This isn't my first teletype - I had
two back in the 80's, one a model 19 which I used on RTTY,
and a 33ASR which I used as a computer printer back then,
but the thrill is back with this machine.

I do have one remaining problem. It took a while to the
realize things weren't 100% on the print-out, as I was so
happy to see it even working.

The machine isn't shifting between letters and characters.
(eg. (AP) prints out as "K AP L", apostrophe as "J" , comma
as "M", and numbers also as letters.

I will be working on the machine again today to try to
eliminate this problem...

Has anyone else run across this problem in a 28 and what
was your solution? I received some good advice from a list
member last night which I will follow up on, but has anyone
else got suggestions I can check out?

Dave
