[GreenKeys] Associated Press's Teletype Machine Needs Help

Hello all -

I have been pointed in the direction of this Mailing List.

I work for a theater company and have borrowed a teletype from the  
Associated Press's World Headquarters in New York. I have been told  
that it is an M-15 and I have a problem with the ribbons improperly  
spooling and the bel is not ringing when it nears the the of the line.

 From what I can tell the ribbon is supposed to spool from right to  
left. Please correct me if I am wrong.  The right spool cradle is  
working properly. The left hand one however is not. The arm supporting  
the cradle appears to be slightly bent not engaging the vertical worm  
gear below the arm. I have found out that by pressing on that vertical  
gear I change the engagement on the spool from left to right.  Am I  
missing something else?
