OK, here's the deal.  Yes, I measured about 3 volts on the printer signal line.  I tied it across the KB signal line and it typed very nicely.....I measured 2 ma., not 20 ma. on this "loop".

Tonite I tried dry keying the "loop" thru a Black Box. Then, thru an opto isolator in the Hal.  No good, ran open.  

OK, let's live dangerously and take the RS 232 voltage outta the computer (Heavy Metal) and run it into this low voltage sort of loop coming outta the Model 35.

It runs at 100 WPM using RS 232 into the printer signal line!  The magnet card 182630, I thought, was supposed to be 20 or 60 ma. loop controlled!

That's all there is, there ain't no more.  Probably won't understand it till I get the prints on the ESU.  But, it sure is nice to run the 35 right out of the PC.
