I was on the U.S.S. Ranger for about 5 years. All TTY's throughout the
ship were at 100wpm. In the comm center we also had the satt computer
that we would program with our guard list and it would spit out a page
almost in the blink of an eye. We would still get a copy on the "slow"
100wpm TTY. The computer had to receive the whole message before it
would print but the TTY would print it as it was being received. So, I
guess the TTY was faster (?)
