Hey epvglk;

I am not familiar with the 14 KTR but maybe this will help.

I had a Kleinschmidt TT-100B/FG teleprinter.

It would receive full-speed copy just fine - but when I typed
on the keyboard it would miss and sometimes garble characters.
The faster I typed the better it did.

What I found was that the pressure plate on one of the clutches
was not applying enough pressure. When it was engaged full-time
(full speed printing) all was fine, but it did not work properly
with start-stop operations.

When I tightened the clutch, it fixed the problem.

Perhaps the 14 needs a good lubrication job.
