Thanks Steve,
The Shore number of the O-ring for my antenna coupler is 70 and Mercer
is the company that made them for us.  I will get some of the Windo-Weld
for a leak I have on my Packard's windshield.

Paul Cembura has some of the old print heads for the reperfs but says  
they
no longer have any give and will break if put on the print arm.  I may  
ask
him for one as a sample if we can find a manufacturer willing without  
a large
bank loan.

This is the toughest air curing elastomer that I have ever used,  
easily by
an order of magnitude.

It comes in a caulking tube, so I would think that it would be fairly  
easy
to adapt to a primitive mold. One tube would probably yield about 100
hammers pads.

It is also available for a marine application although I don't have a  
prod.
number for it.

If I had to guesstimate, I would put the Shore A durometer at about 70,
typical for most O-rings.

As a comparison, it is much harder & tougher than any polysiloxane
(Silicone) that I have used.

But, since we don't even know the hardness of an original, it make take
some trial & error.
