I've just released version 2.5 of Baudotrss, for
driving Baudot teletypes from RSS feeds:
http://www.aetherltd.com/communicating.html
Basic functions:
Prints RSS feeds on a Teletype. Reuters is the
default for news, and any other RSS feed or feeds can
be used, including Twitter.
Weather reports - configure a location and you can print
the local weather. Data from the National Weather Service.
Sends and receives cell phone text messages. This requires
a Google Voice account.
Works best with KSR machines, because it accepts commands form
the Teletype keyboard. On a RO machine, you can still print news
feeds.
New in version 2.5:
ITA2 character set support. Now supports USTTY (most AT&T and
military machines), ITA2 (most WU machines), and FRACTIONS
(from the financial services industry).
Completely new weather support. The old FTP files from the National
Weather Service are being phased out, and are only updated for about
half the US at this point. The new system uses the NWS's new XML
service which automatically generate a forecast for most locations in
the US.
--ryrypat and --alphapat options, which just print RYRY... and
ABCD... forever, with a CR LF LTRS LTRS as needed. Useful when
installing and adjusting machines.
Better error recovery from Internet problems. Trouble on the
Internet side produces a message on the Teletype every 2 minutes,
accompanied by three bells.
Works with Python 2.6 and Python 2.7, and on both Linux and
Windows.
