I have had a Printed Circuit board professionally made up that
contains the circuitry
for a "TTY Idle Line Motor Control". The circuit is inserted into
the TTY loop, monitors signal activity and controls the TTY's motor.
If the line is idle
for a predetermined amount of time, a relay is opened, shutting
off the TTY motor. As soon as a signal ("traffic") is sensed, it
turns the motor on. The timing interval is determined by a
user-selected capacitor
and resistor on the board.
The PC board is made of high quality fiberglass, is double sided,
and is tinned. The dimensions are 2.5" x 2.75".
The board comes with a schematic, list of required parts,
and a parts placement diagram. The parts can be obtained from
Mouser, Jameco, Digikey, etc. The board requires 12VDC
for operation. You should have moderate soldering skills
to build this unit.
I am offering these boards for $20.00 shipped. Believe me,
I'm not making any money on this!
Soon to come, a PC board that contains a complete, bi-directional
RS232-to-TTY loop converter circuit.
I have 4 boards available. First come, first served.
TO BE PERFECTLY CLEAR...THIS OFFER IS FOR THE PC
BOARD ONLY. YOU HAVE TO ACQUIRE THE PARTS,
BUILD IT AND INSTALL IT INTO A SUITABLE ENCLOSURE.
THIS WILL REQUIRE WIRING UP AN AC OUTLET TO
CONTROL THE TTY MOTOR. BE CAREFUL!! I CANNOT
BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR ELECTROCUTIONS.
