That ASR may be high priced, but someone will buy it! We all might say a "sucker" would buy it for that price but who cares. If he likes it and has the dinero, that's his choice. I hope he's so happy about it he comes on here and asks for our help getting it going. And as we all know, he'll get it from all the geniuses we have on here.

So what the heck is going on with high dollar Teletype gear these days? Stuff is going for allot higher prices on Ebay than I ever thought it would. I think what's happening is a combination of the exposure we now have to a worldwide buyer market and the continued inflation (depleting buying power) of our US dollar buying power. By any margin calculator currently available on the internet you'll see that $850 in 2012 (latest available year) would equal $145 buying power in 1970. Put it another way, if you paid $850 in 1970 for this 28ASR, you'll be paying $5141 for it in 2012. So, let's all "get over it" and at least collect a few more teletype toys while the "getting's good" while the jokers in Washington continue to crank up our money printing machines even more.
