Wow thanks for all the tips. I'll take a jab any answering a few things.

Oh my, is it really that complex? Again, I've never seen any technicval

One last thing I forgot to ask last night: is the tractor feed unit still
able to use the more conventional rolls of paper?

Nope, it's only the comma key and only AFTER a line feed takes the cam lobe
off the high point (I assume this is some sort of stop). The issue
essentially causes the cam to reset but no, it's only the comma key. I can
type away all I want anfter a line feed but the moment I press the comma
that paper is off to the races. This does not however cause the punch to
spit out line feeds, you get the one comma as you would expect.
