Actually, that's close enough.

That also works out to about 5 RETURN per LINEFEED to keep the
printed image down to about 6 feet. (Over strike count)

Because otherwise that many characters would be about 28 feet of
paper at 72 characters per line and 6 lines per inch.

Now, just a random thought I had while doing the numbers.

I remember how "picture tapes" were really popular back in
the '70s when I was regularly on RTTY in Amateur Radio.
But the FCC had this annoying little regulation about identifying
every 10 minutes with your call sign. So, every 10 minutes you
had to stop the tape, send you ID via Morse code, then start the
tape again. In the above mentioned example, that's at least 40
pauses to ID.
