Clock oilers are the way to go!

They come in a squeezable tube with a loooog thin metal needle tube for getting deep into the pivot joints of clockworks.  I have one for a mantle clock here.

Annnnd, the oil is the type that doesn't evaporate, but lasts a loooong time.
