Being that one of my main hobbies is computers. I need to state
emphatically, and categorically:

Avoid realPlayer like the plague.

It likes to make itself cozy on your machine. Installing loads of...
lovely... crapware that will not leave if you decide to get rid of
realPlayer. So honestly, while VLC might have the occasional glitch
out and crash... I and most people would rather that than "URGENT
WINDOWS MESSAGE: BUY <X> NOW!" showing up because realMedia decided to
make the Windows Notification Area its own personal advertising space.
