Hi Doug,
You have a golden piece of history there. Almost the whole package.
Just my two cents, that model 33 is in excellent shape by my
standards... and the fact that the reader is hanging really doesn't mean
much of a problem.
Truly if the thing didn't have anything relevant broken back in the late
1970s (i.e. was in service when retired), has no rust and you don't mess
up anything when doing the huge clean that you have ahead, it will be
working in no time.
At least you guys kept it! ALMOST lost it but you saved it just in time.
instead, down here everything was thrown to trash nearly everywhere...
even (especially) the big tube jewels from the 1950s ended up in the
dumpster...
