Thanks, Dave. Looking forward to getting quite a few of these. Keep us posted.

Now that the right material is found, and a supplier is identified, there is a hammer, likely made from the same material but completely different geometry, on many punch mechanisms that print on the tape as it punches. Certainly my 35 has (or rather needs) one. I've heard the 28 might also, but I don't have one of those (yet...)

George Hutchinson knows the details for sure. I think a lot of guys on the list might like this as well.

Anyone out there able to build on what Dave has done to create this long lost part as well?

I have one original sample that has not degraded too much and the parts appear indistinguishable (although they will be made from a synthetic elastomer and should not turn to goo like the natural rubber). Again, thanks Wayne and Don for helping with each painful iteration of the part.

My wife has volunteered to create an eBay store for these and the other various parts we are reproducing for the 32/33: Oil pad, paper window, chad box, "TELETYPE" nameplate, etc. (Oil pads are done, no ETA yet on paper window and chad box, nameplate fabrication is underway - it will be laser cut, brushed, screened and coated - made exactly to original specs.
