Dear All,
FYI, I am based in Dublin, Ireland.
The TGN4 is a UK Royal Navy modification of the commercial Siemens
T1000 teleprinter for crypto use. We have one, and spares from
other related units (e.g. a TGN2 RO unit.)
In addition to the (old) standard German ADo telephone connector,
this model has a military-style fly lead which probably connected
to an encryption device.
I would like to know how to use this teleprinter as a non-crypto
unit, but the board set inside seems to be quite different to those
in the German military equivalent or in the commercial model.
Can anyone point me toward useful, possibly Royal Navy - specific
information? I have already received some very useful pointers
from Henning (www.teleprinter.net) in Germany, concerning the
?Bundeswehr? variant.
The goal is a system inspired by http://www.aetherltd.com/ .
Best Wishes,
