Gents,  

Thanks for your encouraging responses. I will certainly be trying some trans-atlantic skeds as circumstances allow.

I was most fortunate with my first contact.  GW4SKA - a teleprinter and vintage radio enthusiast, provided me with useful feedback on my transmission quality and, an MMTTY recording of the exchange. We aim to have a further contact to try and iron -out any problems ( always easier when we can discuss on the phone!).

Look forward to some long distance contacts.
